The museum looks after 56 monuments of architecture in the towns of Vladimir, Suzdal and Gus-Khrustalny, in the settlement of Bogolyubovo and in the village of Kideksha.

This is mainly monuments of Old Russian period (12th - early 18th century) - churches and secular buildings, stone and wooden, separate structures and architectural complexes. Some monuments belong to the gubernia period (late 18th - early20th century). Of particular value are the monuments of the 12th - early 13th century.

Eight monuments and ensembles are on the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
