On September, 7 a new exhibition was opened in the church of the Holy Trinity. For the first time the exhibition of crystal, miniature painting and embroidery was created in 1974 in Vladimir. At the end of September 2003, almost 30 years later, in spite of great popularity, the museum was closed for re-exhibition. It took a year to make thorough repairs of the building, to change its heating system and to mount ventilation.
The artistic decision was suggested by the Moscow artist L. Ozernikov (the author of the exhibition in the History museum). He created an emotional and exciting image of a glimmering crystal river. All the expressive means - color decoration, the shape of glass-cases, music - were subordinated to the main idea. But the leading role was given to the light: to its bewitching shimmer and the effect of running wave of light.
300 exhibits are shown at the museum. Most of them are unique. Annotations to the exhibits give exhaustive information about the main artistic trends of glassmaking, techniques and masters. Some of the items were bought specially for the exhibition. A logical addition is a glassware shop of Nechaev-Maltsov. A famous manufacturer from Gus had special shops in St.-Petersburg and Moscow. A fragment of the shop is represented at the museum.

The second floor was made as a wonderful casket for keeping treasures - lacquered miniature and embroidery. The hall was decorated in the traditions of Russian ornamental painting. The wall paintings were made by Muratov V.
The lacquered miniature appeared in Mstera not at once. At first Mstera was famous for its talented icon-painters. Only after the revolution, when it was forbidden to paint icons, the painters began to decorate utensils, boxes etc. in accordance with old traditions. The articles of that period and the technological process are represented at the museum.

112 articles of the lacquered miniature are in the collection. Each box is a small masterpiece! Klykov, Briagin, Morozov, Fomichov - these names are the legend today. Each author has his own manner. The favorite themes are: fairy tales, literary and historical scenes. Today the masters paint icons again. Some of them are exhibited at the museum.
Needlewomen in Mstera like to work in the following techniques: "Vladimir stitch", "Russian satin stitch", "White satin stitch". The best 14 works exhibited at the museum have no analogues.
The opening of the exhibition was timed to the 150th anniversary of the Vladimir museum. The exhibition has already received positive comments of specialists and colleagues.
